Hunter’s Furniture & Appliance is a locally-owned and operated business that has been serving Star Valley and surrounding communities for over 20 years. We offer furniture, appliances, mattresses and more from over 30 brands.
Our knowledgeable and courteous staff can help you find the perfect piece for your home. Mark & Linda Hunter founded the company as an appliance only store, Hunter’s Maytag, with a pickup truck and a leased building. The relationships they created with customers and manufacturers allowed them to grow the business in a way that complimented the needs of the Star Valley community.
It took only a few months to realize the need for better installation equipment and an enclosed box truck with power dollies to traverse stairs was added. More appliance brands were added and two years in they added furniture. In 2008, the store was expanded to offer bedding options and we’ve never looked back. When our customers needed more options, we stepped in to fill that need.
As the business grew, the need for more storage space became apparent. The Hunter’s warehouse started as part of the retail building and as we grew it bounced around to different locations in Afton until we found the perfect location where we currently store our inventory. At the time, a 300,000 cubic feet warehouse was too large for our needs then but as the years passed it has become invaluable to how we currently do business. It has allowed us to have the space to offer recycling options for our customers for appliances and bedding.
So as we eclipse 20 years and look back on where we came from, we thank you, our customers, for helping us realize our potential to become better at meeting your needs. We are excited to see where the next 20 years will take us.
